Brian Kelly (February 14, 1931 – February 12, 2005) was an American actor widely known for his role as Porter Ricks, the widowed father of two sons on the NBC television series '' Flipper''. Early years Kelly was born in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Republican Governor of Michigan Harry F. Kelly (who was also chief justice of Michigan's Supreme Court) and the former Anne Veronica O'Brien. Kelly had three sisters and two brothers, one of whom was his fraternal twin. His nephew (sister's son) is actor Brian d'Arcy James. He was of Irish descent. Kelly attended St. Mary High School and served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. Kelly graduated in 1953 from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana. He attended the University of Michigan Law School in Ann Arbor for a year before settling on acting. Brian Keith Kelly (born October 25, 1961) is an American football coach who is currently the head football coach at Louisiana State University (LSU). Kelly previously served as the head football coach at Grand Valley State University (1991–2003), Central Michigan University (2004–2006), the University of Cincinnati (2006–2009), and the University of Notre Dame (2010–2021). He led the Grand Valley State Lakers to consecutive NCAA Division II Football Championships in 2002 and 2003. Brian Kelley (January 8, 1943 – September 19, 2011) was an American Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) counterintelligence officer. He was investigated by the CIA and FBI as a suspected KGB mole during the 1990s, before FBI agent Robert Hanssen was identified as the actual mole and arrested in 2001. Having been suspended during the investigation, Kelley was reinstated by the CIA and later received the Distinguished Career Intelligence Medal for his service. Brian Kelly (born 3 November 1978, in York, England) is an international chess player. Although born in England, he moved to Limerick, Republic of Ireland when he was 2 years old, and later to Belfast, Northern Ireland when he was 12. Both his parents hold Irish citizenship and he can compete for Ireland in international competitions. He attained the title of International Master in 1998. His current FIDE rating is 2488, with a highest rating of 2504 achieved in July 2005. Kelly won the Irish Chess Championship twice, outright in 1995 and jointly in 2007. He has previously played for the San Francisco Dragons and the Los Angeles Riptide of Major League Lacrosse (MLL). He played college lacrosse for the Whittier College Poets in Los Angeles.
